IPPR has been a point of reference for the Italian plastics processing and recycling industry for many years, and this year it has reached two prestigious milestones: 20 years of history and 10,000 products certified Plastic Second Life.

The research is not just a ‘snapshot’ of the landscape of recycled plastics in Italy, but is a tool that every year provides an in-depth, serious and timely view of what is an industry of excellence on the national and European scene, and on which IPPR has boasted years of absolute expertise.

The main objective of the research, commissioned from Plastic Consult, was to update the following data to 2023

• volumes of recycled plastics, from both industrial and post-consumer waste, absorbed by the domestic processing industry;
• breakdown by polymer and by main application sectors;
• evolution of the sectoral scenario, potential and limits to development
